(Inside Science) -- Beginning October 8, Inside Science News Service (insidescience.org) will release the first of several stories included in our comprehensive coverage of this year's science and science-related Nobel Prizes. We will send brief stories soon after the prize announcements, followed by more comprehensive afternoon stories. We will also provide links to interesting related material on our blog. Please check our site early and often for plenty of Nobel-related news.

You can watch the prize announcements live at this link: Just remember, the prizes are announced in Europe. If you're in the U.S., you'll have to get up early to watch.

Here's the prize schedule for next week:

Monday, October 8: The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine

Tuesday, October 9: The Nobel Prize in Physics

Wednesday, October 10: The Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Also, depending on how closely connected the awarded accomplishments are to the topics we usually cover at Inside Science, we may also cover the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, October 12, and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, on Monday, October 15.
