GigaPan Offers Billion-Pixel Views
Computer scientists modified a digital camera to enable users to create detailed panoramic photos and time-lapse videos where viewers can zoom in and out of the scene.

- Pixel - A single point in a digital image or the smallest piece of a picture on a screen that can be controlled.
- Giga - A prefix in the metric system that means “one billion.” For example, a gigapixel is a billion pixels, and a gigayear is equal to one billion years.
