  1. Point guard - Also called the one, play maker or “the ball-handler.” A point guard is expected to run the team’s offense by controlling the ball and making sure it gets to the right players at the right time.
  2. Center - Normally the tallest player on the team, a typical NBA center is between 6’10” and 7’3”. The center’s primary role is to use his size to score and defend from a position close to the basket.
  3. Slam dunk - When a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both hands over the rim.
