The whirlwind first day of talks, press conferences, and poster sessions is nearly done. There are so many scientists presenting so much information, that it approaches being overwhelming. Check out the photo after this jump:

Since the last post I attended some academic talks and one more press conference. I’m hoping to be able to share more on that soon, but won’t do so before I can obtain some copies of the amazing images that the scientists and their partners captured – watch for that update.

I’ll wander through some poster presentations later (but with purpose, of course) and attend a couple more sessions. Then I’ll do it all again tomorrow.

Update (December 6, 12:36 pm): Hi -- wanted to put some numbers to the photo. I'm hearing that there are over 21,000 people attending this meeting of the American Geophysical Union.
