A Mutual Understanding: 'Let's do better'

A few days ago while perusing the #scio12 post on Twitter I came across a RT with a link to the above diagram.  

It's a humorous take on the ever-present scientist vs. journalist debate.

I first saw this posted on the Discover Magazine's Not Exactly Rocket Science blog, but apparently it came from discussions created by posts here and here, although I agree with Ed Yong's take on the matter:

"This is tedious. We’ve been doing this for years now, with no progress. Two sides, shouting at each other, shouting past each other, resorting to caricatures, and making no/little attempt at mutual understanding. Let’s do better."
