  1. Galaxy - A system  of stars, star remains, gas and dust; also believed to contain significant quantities of invisible "dark" matter, which does not radiate light.
  2. Light year - The distance that light travels in one Earth year, specifically a "Julian calendar year," defined as 365.25 days.
  3. Infrared - An invisible form of electromagnetic radiation just beyond the visible light spectrum that is usually felt as heat.
